This Jamaica Plain bathroom upgrade focused on rebuilding the room from the framing stage through final fixture installation. The existing claw tub, toilet, vanity, medicine cabinet, light fixture, partial plaster wall, and flooring were removed along with wood ceiling panels, creating a clean base for the new layout.
Construction included new framing, bathtub installation with plumbing rough work, and a new fan vented to the exterior. We installed cement board in the shower area, added blue board at the surrounding walls and ceiling, and completed new shower wall tile with a stone window sill detail. Electrical was reviewed and updated as needed to meet code requirements.
The finishing scope included floor tile, new vanity and medicine cabinet, vanity lighting, toilet installation, and custom shelving additions above the toilet and behind the door. A heated towel rack was also installed to improve comfort and day-to-day usability. The completed space now has better storage, better ventilation, and a cleaner, more durable finish throughout.
